Grace and peace in Christ Jesus.

The Liturgical Group is pleased to share our proposal for the 2026 calendar‑year theme for the American National Catholic Church (ANCC). After prayerful reflection and collaboration, we have developed an ANCC wide program, with an accompanying logo, and a proposed rollout timeline beginning in January 2026. These materials will be available for review.

Our proposed theme, “Pilgrims of Hope, Disciples on Mission,” is rooted in the Gospel of St. Matthew and centers on Christ’s life, teaching, and call to mission. It invites our entire Church to walk together in hope while actively embracing the discipleship Christ models for us. This focus will help us speak with one voice, deepen the faith of our people, and inspire new ministries in every community.

One Church, One Voice

Love is the thread that weaves us together through the world. A Church that sets no limits to love, that sees no enemies to fight but only brothers and sisters to embrace, is the Church the world longs for today.

Throughout 2026, this theme will be woven into our shared life as a Church, expressed through:

  • Lent and Advent reflections
  • Convocation and regional gatherings
  • “Come and See” events
  • Homilies, catechesis, and parish communications
  • Liturgy and prayer resources across the jurisdiction

To support this effort, the Liturgical Group will provide:

  • Sample Prayers of the Faithful throughout the year
  • Seasonal meditations and reflections
  • Unified graphics and messaging using the new logo package

Our hope is that this initiative will strengthen our shared identity, deepen the faith of our communities, and foster new ministries as we journey together as Pilgrims of Hope and Disciples on Mission.

We are grateful for the opportunity to present this vision and look forward to your guidance and blessing as we prepare for 2026.

In Christ’s love and service,

Most Rev. George R. Lucey, FCM

Presiding Bishop
